Side by Side is a video series on local multiplayer games. This is fifth episode of the eighth series.
Joel Goodwin of Electron Dance and Gregg Burnell of Tap-Repeatedly are assaulted by twin-stick-not-quite-a-shooter NIDUS (Caleb Wood, 2024). Designed to be played for a single player where you control a wasp and a flower at the same time, it offers a two player co-op mode where each player takes just one role. It’s a beautiful experience, as you’d expect coming from a Scavengers Reign concept artist – but it’s also brutally hard, as Gregg and Joel’s hands had to be rushed to hospital on conclusion of the video. Let’s hope they recover in time for next week’s episode.
