We’re at the point, though, where I think it makes sense to open up a little, at least to the newsletter crowd, about what is going on.

Honored for my submission to appear twice in the newsletter. 😛
I’d like to say I have no idea how that happened, but I know how it happened. Although, I do slightly blame the mailchimp editor for doing a great job for obscuring content.
Amazing that I wrote two separate ‘thanks salty’ for the same link.
Jonas Kyratzes co-wrote Serious Sam 4…?
…What??
That’s like telling me that Samuel Beckett wrote the last episode of Friends.
Oh look who’s still alive and breathing!
I can’t wait to get to play your game and either think “See, that’s what Blue Prince should have all been about!” or “Now I need to force myself through this just to be a supportive fellow because ultimate there is enough Blue Princess in there to be not quite my cup of time.” Regardless I am excited to play it once it’s out! And thanks for the links – now I am depressed even more than I was before. Specifically by the “outsourcing content moderation to India” which means that in the last 15 years ago (which is roughly when I remember first hearing about this issue except back then it was probably poor people in US or Turkey?) absolutely nothing has changed. Praise our tech billionaire overlords and the power of money I guess.
There is a particularly cool and totally optional mechanic buried deep in your game where most people won’t find it and then you just straight up mentioned this fact to your newsletter readers? What did we do to deserve such tortures? (reflects for a moment on my long list of crimes against Joel) Besides that!
So, uh, if the issue is that you have some placeholder text that needs to be unplaceholdered, have you thought about bringing in a writing assistant?
re: Steal A Brainrot, there is a good chance that the management of Roblox should be [redacted on the advice of legal counsel]. Like there is some sort of nice and creative core in it, and it has been turned into a creature of pure evil.
Re: games, I found Bonfire Peaks Lost Memories Ep. 1 the best, then 3, then 2, though there are a few puzzles I have left undone in the last couple. Also the link to &3 seems broken? I wouldn’t ordinarily bug you about that but I have not had any luck searching for “&3.”
CA
I thought that was well known! I guessed wrong.
Maurycy
I know we talked about this **in person** several months ago. I actually don’t know which side of the Blue Prince fence it will fall. There is, undeniably, a lot of reading :sweats gif:
Somehow I thought I’d included a lot of positive links but now I’m thinking as I included POST VOID twice, I obviously wasn’t counting straight.
Matt
To be fair, I already toxified the online discourse with the knowledge of the optional thing and it is hinted at in-game. Although we are yet to discover if I’ve gone full Blue Prince or pulled off what I intended.
I had not thought about bringing in a writing assistant. I’ve kept this project entirely closed, using free sounds, asset packs I’ve acquired and some graphics I’ve scribbled together myself. I don’t think I am up for giving the words away. Maybe if this is “successful” in some sense, I’d look at bringing in contributors for another project.
With you, buddy, I have no love for Roblox, none at all.
Playlist: I can’t believe the &3 has got its own broken link. Is there no end of ways that Mailchimp can screw up the newsletter? One thing that isn’t clear from that list, because it covers a broad timeframe, is that I have actually stopped playing Slay. It won’t feature on the next newsletter which is a real milestone.
Oh! It’s Bonfire Peaks Lost Memories Episode 2 & 3! And they have a heart! I was trying to process why you didn’t heart Episode 2, being silent about my confusion that you weren’t playing 3 yet, and wondering about this exciting game called “&3” by some designer boldly thumbing their nose at search engine optimization.
Looking forward to playing this when you’re ready to set it loose!
Thank you James!
@Joel
I like reading! As long as you don’t expect me to play pretend settlers AND comb through the same rooms over and over and over and over again while also reading and solving puzzles I should be good :).
Maurycy, have faith that if I make you trawl through the same rooms over and over it will be for a good cause
CA: yes: jonas and verena kyratzes wrote serious sam 4 together.
Harbour Master (to name an entirely coincidental character in that other game series made by the kyratzes kyriarchy): i am exceedingly interested in … er … The Game Formerly Known As The Secret (i cant remember the new name, and would have to go dig up the newsletter to look it up.).
Thank you, vfig. Bivium.
ah, came up with a mnemonic that will help me remember the name.
The Elder Scrolls: Bivium
I’ve gotta be honest, if you wanted me to remember the game as being called anything other than The Secret, you really shouldn’t have led with an image bearing the words ‘The Secret’.
Also Bivium sounds like a reference to Blue Prince that only Blue Prince players would understand. So I guess it’s the perfect name??
My bad 🙂
I will happily share that Bivium has no Blue Prince meaning!
