Side by Side was a video series on local multiplayer games. After ten years, it came to an end. Gregg and I met up as usual this summer and we did videogames without having to worry about a shave or wash before picking up a controller.
But I had my mobile and, God damn it, we played some interesting titles and felt it was my Electron Dance duty to do a brief report on the four games we played. Here’s the video!

Light Fingers looked interesting enough from that brief peek for me to install the demo, but i quickly discovered that it did not play at all like i thought it would. i didnt realise movement in the world was just tile by tile, and that the rest was wipeout-style dungeons. oh well.
Ah yes the downside of just recording a teensy bit of footage and not spending much time on explanation. Originally, I was only going to put out a few clips on social media but later I realised I’d make a short video and recorded more of the later titles. I also realised I could pinch the mobile between my legs making it easier to video at length. I wish I’d thought of that for My Rusty Submarine because that was *intense*. Astro Duel II is all from my thighs.
